I'm Ready to Get My Best Back

You’re Normally the Strong One.
But Who's Helping You When You're Struggling?
You're the person others depend on.
You show up.
You take care of people.
You solve problems, meet deadlines, manage unexpected demands, and do your best to hold everything together.
Most of the time, you handle it well.
Until one more thing happens.
A difficult person pushes the wrong button.
Someone disappoints you.
Another responsibility lands on your shoulders.
A plan falls apart.
Lately, even small things irritate you easily.
You may find yourself saying things that do not sound like you, and then feeling badly afterward.
When someone asks how you are, the answer may come automatically, “I’m fine.”
But inside, you may not feel fine at all.
Self-doubt creeps in. You've already achieved so much, but now you question whether you are doing enough — or whether you still have what it takes.
These negative thoughts may be appearing faster and staying longer — stealing your precious time, attention, and energy.
You may try to ignore it, push through it, calm down, or tell yourself: “I should be able to handle this.”
I’ve done that, too.
But pushing harder or working harder rarely helps.
Sometimes it leaves you feeling more exhausted, frustrated, scattered, or unlike yourself.
And because everyone counts on you, you're not about to admit you are struggling.
The Problem is NOT That You Are Weak.
Advice given to us has rarely been designed for what we’re facing.
Most women are told to relax, avoid stress, let it go, or think positively.
Those ideas may help temporarily.
But life does not always give you time to step away.
You may still have to lead the meeting.
Care for your family.
Respond to the message.
Make the decision.
Deal with the person.
Protect what you have built.
Or get back up and keep moving when everything in you wants to shut down.
You do not need another reminder to “relax.”
You need a safe place to understand what is happening, and a practical way to prepare for handling what comes next.
That’s What This Workshop Is About.
This workshop is not about pretending everything is fine.
It is not about ignoring harmful behavior, suppressing how you feel, or adding more pressure to handle everything perfectly.
It is about helping you understand why difficult situations can pull even strong, capable women away from their best.
During our first live session, we will look at what is happening beneath the surface — inside you, around you, and in the increasingly demanding environment we are all navigating.
During our second session, we will focus on how to prepare yourself to handle tough moments with greater calm, clarity, confidence, and strength.
You will begin recognizing what pulls you off balance.
You will see why familiar responses do not always help.
And you will discover practical ways to regain your footing before fear, anger, exhaustion, or self-doubt determines what happens next.
Not hours later.
Not after the damage has been done.
But when your next choice matters most.
Investment
This two-session live workshop would normally be $197.

The Lesson That Changed How I Handled Challenges (think of insanely hard times!)
I did not learn how to stay at my best because life was easy.
I learned because it wasn’t.
I entered West Point's Military Academy in the first class with women, breaking a 174-year tradition.
From the beginning, I faced relentless standards, difficult personalities, and people actively opposed to the idea that women belonged there. Almost every moment was designed to test us physically, mentally, emotionally, and our leadership.
I persevered and graduated with 61 other women four years later in a class of just over 900 cadets, leading the way for over 6800 women graduates today.
Throughout 30 years in the Army, I later led people and organizations through emergencies, conflict, tremendous responsibility, personal setbacks, and combat.
Eventually, I successfully led a $2.1 billion construction command in Iraq, during an intense period in the conflict.
People sometimes assume that experiences like those automatically make you mentally tough.
They don’t.
Challenges can strengthen you.
They can also exhaust you, harden you, derail you, or pull you into reacting in ways that make an already difficult situation worse.
I had to learn how to recognize what was happening inside me before it affected my decisions, relationships, leadership, or ability to accomplish the mission.
One of the greatest lessons I learned was:
A Crisis Is Not the Time to Decide What Matters Most.
You prepare before the difficult moment arrives.
Just as I would never have jumped a horse without training, preparation, and the right equipment, we should not expect ourselves to handle life’s hardest moments without developing the right understanding and skills.
Over decades, I collected, tested, and refined the strategies that helped me regain my footing, think clearly, protect what mattered, and continue moving forward without losing my heart.
Those lessons became the foundation of Stress Intelligence™.
But this workshop is not about learning another complicated system.
It is about helping you understand what has been pulling you away from your best and begin preparing yourself to handle it differently.

Prepare—and Expect More
BTW - I had never ridden this horse before entering the ring. West Point Equestrian Team riders competed under IHSA rules.
You can't predict every challenge.
You can prepare to meet it!
What We'll Explore Together
Over two live, interactive sessions, we will move from understanding what is happening to preparing yourself to handle what comes next.
You will discover what most often pulls you away from your best.
You will learn how to recognize the warning signs before your reactions take over.
And you will practice simple tools that help you calm your body, clear your thinking, and choose what you want to do next.
Most importantly, you will leave with something you can use again and again.
At work.
At home.
In difficult conversations.
During unexpected changes.
And in the moments when self-doubt, frustration, or exhaustion threaten to take the reins.
I will also coach selected volunteers live so everyone can watch the process unfold and recognize opportunities in their own lives.
You may discover that someone else’s situation looks very different from yours, but the pattern beneath it is surprisingly familiar.
What You’ll Take Away
This is not another workshop where you gather information and never apply it.
You will leave with:
A Clearer Understanding of What Pulls You Away From Your Best
You will more clearly recognize the situations and emotions that affect you the most.
Greater Awareness of What Happens Under Pressure
You will have a better understanding of why your body, emotions, thinking, and choices can change when life becomes intense.
Practical Preparation for Difficult Moments
You will discover ways to steady yourself, think more clearly, and approach your next response with greater intention.
A Personal Starting Point
You will identify one situation you want to handle better and the first steps you can take to prepare.
Renewed Hope and Confidence
Not because every problem will disappear, but because you will be better equipped for what comes next.
You will leave with greater clarity, practical preparation, and a stronger place to begin.
Why I Help Women Get Back in the Saddle
Hi, I’m Colonel Deb.
Throughout my life, horses have taught me some of my most enduring lessons.
You cannot control a powerful animal through force alone.
You must remain aware.
You must communicate clearly.
You must stay balanced.
You must prepare.
And when you fall, you learn what happened, recover, and get back up wiser than before.
Those lessons served me at West Point, throughout my military career, in combat, during personal heartbreak, and through the difficult transitions that followed retirement.
I have been knocked down personally, professionally, emotionally, and financially.
I have also discovered that one difficult moment does not get to define the rest of your life.
You can recover.
You can grow stronger.
You can become wiser.
And you can move forward without losing your heart.
Today, through Mentally Tough Women and Stress Intelligence™, I help caring women prepare for life’s tougher moments so they can continue making a difference without losing themselves in the process.
You do not need my decades of experience to begin benefiting from what I learned.
You can begin in these two sessions.
Imagine Handling the Next Moment Differently
The difficult person may still be difficult.
The demand may still be relentless.
The situation may still be unfair.
But this time, you recognize sooner what is happening.
You regain your footing.
You think more clearly.
You remember what matters most.
And you choose your next step without allowing that moment to steal the strong, capable woman you know you are
That is how confidence grows and how you get your best back fast.
One difficult moment.
One wiser response.
One successful recovery at a time.
